CHRISTMAS IS COMING TO SCHOOL!

We have decorations, Christmas trees, the Nativity, stars, reindeers,postcards so... Christmas is almost here!

We are going to start Christmas with a visit to Geriatros, the Old people Home. We will there to sell our crafts that we made at Art class, in order to give the money to the Banco de Alimentos. It is good to help people who need  food!

ETHAN, OUR LANGUAGE ASSISTANT IS HERE!

Finally Ethan is here!
After a month waiting for him our  language assistant  came to our school.
Children of Year 6 described him.

EXHIBITION OF HALLOWEEN PUMPKINS

To celebrate Halloween, there was an exhibition of pumpkins made by the families of the children. All the families worked very hard to make these amazing and scary pumpkins. There were a lot of them (about 115) and we want to thank all the families the collaboration in this exhibition.

HALLOWEEN CRAFTS

Children made these crafts to celebrate Halloween. They made them in Art classes (1-6 classes) with lots of toilet rolls, cardboard, toilet paper, clothespins, coloured papers, tree leaves, chestnuts, paints and...a lot of imagination.

CARLA LOVES KOALAS

Carla is a year 6 student and she loves animals especially the koalas. She wrote a description of koalas and she made a fantastic drawing using watercolors. Don't miss the outtakes!! Thanks Carla for your project. We love it!

Children of year 5 and year 6 were creating portraits using straws. They blew through the straws using the paints in order to make the hair.
The results were... great and they really enjoyed  themselves!!.

FAREWELL TO MAGGIE

Maggie our language assistant said goodbye to our school. She will come back to Missouri, the USA.
She was an excellent teacher and colleague.  She taught us a lot of games, songs and culture from her country.
We will miss her a lot.

LOLO SAVES COVAS

This is the movie Year 6 made at Art class with the stop motion tecnique.
The students made the drawings and Maggie helped us to record the sounds and voices.
The story is about Covas beach and the way Lolo, the library pet, saves the beach against the sharks that invaded it.

MAGGIE'S INTERVIEW

Year 6 students interviewed Maggie, the language assistant before she leaves school.
She helped us to improve our oral skills during the school year and we had a good time with her.
She is going to the USA and we will miss her a lot!

WOMEN'S DAY


women's day 2016 - Kizoa Movie Maker

Today is the International Working Women's day.
In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women for their economic, political, and social achievements.
At school we celebrated this day, watching the video of google (doodle) about this event.
Then Maggie told the children about FRIDA KAHLO's life and works.
Every week during the month of March, we are going to learn a lot of thing about women artists.

ART CLASSES- DRAGONS

We were working about dragons in our art classes.
Year 2 kids made dragon's heads with paper tube rolls and year 3 made dragon's tails.
They did very well. Congratulations!
